HE COULD NOT MEET UP WITH THE TWO PROSTRATIONS BEHIND THE IMAAM…HOW WILL HE COMPENSATE FOR SUCH MISTAKE?

Questioner: It happened due to forgetfulness that a person praying behind the Imaam did the first prostration with the Imaam but was still at the position when the Imaam did the second prostration, how should one compensate for such mistake?

Dr Sharof: A person out of forgetfulness did the first prostration with the Imaam but remained on the prostration till the Imaam left the position and did the second prostration; did he pass out at the position or why did he remain at that position? If he did not pass out why was he at the same position when the Imaam finished the first prostration and did the second prostration, and till the Imaam stood up for the next unit of the prayer? It was asked that how will he compensate for the mistake. That Rak’ah is invalid; he should make up for it after the Imaam’s salutation of peace. That is the reward for being heedless.
