Questioner: How can we be united when there are many Jamaa’at?
Dr Sharof: It’s very easy. We should all return to Islaam. We should return to the Qur’aan and Sunnah. Anyone who says this (i.e. returning to the Qur’aan and Sunnah) is difficult for him has undoubtedly uncovered himself. This is because if you are a Muslim, you won’t have any difficulty returning to Islaam; you will never have any difficulty returning to the Qur’aan and Sunnah. (If) they claim that they’ve returned to Islaam, we should ask them to return to Islaam upon the understanding of the Companions, not upon the understanding of their scholars. That’s it.
