Whenever Imaam Maalik wants to teach the people, he would dress up handsomely like the one who wants to set out for ‘Eid; whenever he wants to teach them hadeeth.
He would dress up like the one who wants to set out for ‘Eid.
He would sit down respectfully and honourably.
And he would speak calmly
Because he wants to read the statements of the Prophet (may prayers and peace be upon him)
And this (trait) is with one of the taabi’een; it was said that whenever he teaches some of his students hadeeth and one of them speaks, he would end the teaching for the day
This implies that you’re speaking while the Prophet is speaking; this is because the statements read (at the sitting) are the statements of the Prophet
So if your statement is more beneficial, then we should rather listen to it
This is from their ways of respecting the Prophet (may the peace and blessings be upon him). [End quote]
